Lightning Juby Wynne

Over Memorial Day weekend I ventured down to Southern Yacht Club to put on a Lightning Lab during their districts.  They joined in with the Juby Wynne Regatta which is a very large event.  J22’s, Flying Scotts, Lightnings, R-19, J30, Optimists, and more compete every year at this event.

On Friday we had a few of the Lightnings show up for a day of tuning and speed testing.  We then headed over to Larry Frost’s house for an awesome southern cookout and reviewed the video from the day.  Saturday morning we hit the water and got in 3 great races in 5-8knots of breeze.  Larry Frost and Cal Herman had a great battle day.  North Sails won every race!  Sunday morning came a too fast and early but the fleet was greeted with a light and shifty breeze which held on just long enough to get in 1 race.  Larry Frost won the final race to take home the big win and the district championship.
